Shocktober: Would You Know What To Do If Someone's Heart Stopped?
Most cardiac arrests happen at home. This Shocktober, learn how to spot one, how to Call, Push, Shock, and where to find your nearest AED.

ProMED Tasmania will once again be the official event medical and first aid provider for Party in the Paddock 2027, and we're looking for volunteers to join the team.
The festival runs from Thursday 4th to Monday 8th February 2027 at Quercus Park, Carrick. Across the event, our crews will keep thousands of festival-goers safe around the clock. Volunteers who complete their minimum shifts score a 4-day festival pass, plus clinical experience you won't find anywhere else.
We've worked alongside festival organiser Vibestown since 2021, supporting both Party in the Paddock and Party in the Apocalypse. That partnership rests on a shared commitment: a safe, supportive and health-conscious festival for everyone who comes through the gates.
Our team provides 24-hour medical and first aid coverage for the whole festival. A FACEM-led medical team will run two on-site medical centres, backed by mobile crews.
Clinically, the team can deliver advanced cardiac and patient monitoring, advanced airway management including RSI and intubation, and advanced pharmacology including IV infusions and syringe drivers. Point-of-care pathology (i-STAT with CHEM8+, CG8+ and troponin), point-of-care ultrasound, wound closure and plastering are all available on site.
Alongside the clinical team, the ProMED PartySMART crew will be on site throughout the event delivering harm minimisation and health education. Look out for them at:
We're recruiting for three roles. All volunteers need a current Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (RWVP) card.
Patient registration, record-keeping, data entry and basic triage
Harm minimisation, health education and basic first aid
Clinical care in the medical centres or on response teams, within your qualifications and our scope of practice
Volunteers who complete their minimum shift commitment receive:
Please note these are unpaid volunteer roles, and the inclusions above are the only form of remuneration.
Four days, thousands of festival-goers, and one team keeping them safe. If you'd like to be part of it, register your interest here.
