A New Chapter Begins: ProMED Tasmania Granted its NEPT Licence
ProMED Tasmania has been officially granted its Non-Emergency Patient Transport (NEPT) licence for low and medium-acuity transport by the Tasmanian Department of Health.

ProMED Tasmania has finished its biggest Dark Mofo to date, looking after festival-goers across the whole 2026 program through the coldest weeks of the Tasmanian winter.
Across the festival, ProMED Tasmania crews worked more than 80 shifts, with medical staff on site at Winter Feast, Dark Park, Night Mass, the Piano Warehouse, the Nude Solstice Swim and other venues. That meant there was always someone close by to help, whether for a patron, a performer or part of the crew, from the start of the night through to the end.
"Dark Mofo is one of the largest events we cover, and one of the ones we're proudest of. More than 80 shifts in the middle of winter, across all those venues, and everyone got the same standard of care every hour of every night."
Dark Mofo draws thousands of people out into the middle of winter, and keeping them safe means being ready for very different situations from one venue to the next. A busy night at Winter Feast is nothing like the open spaces of Dark Park, the long hours of Night Mass, the close crowds inside the Piano Warehouse, or the cold of the Nude Solstice Swim. Wherever people gathered, our crews were nearby and ready to help, so anyone who needed care could receive it quickly and get back to enjoying the festival.
To cover so many different settings, ProMED Tasmania brought together a team of Registered Paramedics, Registered Nurses, Advanced Life Support (ALS) Medics, Basic Life Support (BLS) Medics and Medical Responders. Having that range of skills meant we could put more advanced care where it was most needed, while keeping quick, capable help available everywhere across the festival.
"Planning for an event like this takes months, but it all comes down to the people on the ground. Our crews knew their venues inside out, and that knowledge made a real difference when someone needed help."
With the 2026 festival now wrapped up, ProMED Tasmania thanks its crews, the Dark Mofo organisers and the wider event community for another safe and successful program.
We look forward to being part of Dark Mofo again next winter, and to keeping the Tasmanian public safe at events all year round.
