Clinical Placement
Looking for a hands-on, real-world placement where you’re not just standing in the corner holding a clipboard? ProMED Tasmania offers clinical placements at events across the state, giving you a genuine taste of pre-hospital and event medical work in a supportive team.

You’re here to learn – we know that. We’ll support you, explain things as we go, and make sure you’re never asked to do something outside your scope or training.
Work alongside paramedics, nurses, and experienced first aid/medical responders
See a mix of presentations – from cuts, sprains, and dehydration through to more serious illness and injury
Build your confidence in assessment, communication, and documentation
Get a feel for how event medical services actually run behind the scenes
Be part of a friendly, down-to-earth team that’s happy to teach and answer questions
And much more!

What You Can Expect on Placement
Depending on the event and your level of training, your placement could include:
-
On-ground event coverage
Being part of the medical team at festivals, sporting events, community events and more.
-
Clinical observation & hands-on practice
Helping with patient assessments, management, vital signs, documentation, and handovers – always under supervision and within your agreed scope.
-
Practical “real world” skills
Assisting with equipment and kit checks, restocking, infection control, and pack up at the end of the day.
-
Communication & teamwork
Working with a mixed team of clinicians, event organisers, security, and sometimes external emergency services.
You’ll always be supervised, and we’ll clearly explain what you can and can’t do on day one.
